Guided Nature Walk
Nestled on the shores of Strangford Lough, the Castle Espie reserve is a magical mix of wide estuary views, tidal lagoons, eel-grass mats, salt marshes, reed beds, and woodland. A haven for wildlife.
We are delighted to be able to offer you the rare opportunity to enjoy a guided nature walk around the Castle Espie reserve. Learn about the wildlife and plants found at the reserve, the sustainability features of the eco centre, the ancient history of the site and the measures being taken to restore and improve this threatened wetland habitat.
The guided walk is free of charge but tickets must be obtained in advance as places are limited. Although there is no charge for this tour we do ask that you consider making a donation to WWT Castle Espie (your guide will be able to assist with this). You must also purchase or have already purchased a general entrance ticket or be a WWT Castle Espie Member.
The guided walks will take place at the times below and last approximately 1 hour.
Saturday 11.30am and 2.30pm
Sunday 11.30am and 2.30pm
Accessibility: Paths around the Castle Espie site are mostly level access with step free access to hides and viewing windows.
